What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard and a screen reader, and has a skip link, one main heading and headings in order.
- Text and controls meet AA color contrast in both light and dark mode.
- Animation is off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Every map and drawing has a text description, and the town data is in plain tables.
- Pages work without JavaScript, and every guide has a plain-text Markdown version (add
index.mdto the page address). - We check pages with automated accessibility tests whenever the site changes.
Known limits
- Links to Health Department and EPA PDFs open documents we don’t control; their accessibility is up to the publisher.
- The town and county maps are pictures; the same numbers are in the tables below each map.
